In yesterday’s vlog I cooked a Cottage Pie for dinner and thought I would share the recipe with you. It’s such a simple dish and tastes absolutely amazing! Keep in mind I actually made double the recipe that night as I wanted to save some for lunches.
500gm Mince Beef
1 Carrot, diced
1 Onion, Diced
2 -3 tablespoons Gravox
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Tomato Paste
2 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce
1-2 Sweet Potatoes
1 Cup of Cheese
Mix the Gravox and Worcestershire Sauce together to form a paste
Add the above mixture as well as the tomato sauce and tomato paste to the mince mixture and stir in. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
Peel the potatoes. Feel free to use only sweet potatoes or only normal potatoes.
I like to cut my potatoes up and then place in the microwave before I mash them, but feel free to boil or whatever you like, they just need to be mashable!
Once the mince mixture has thickened, place in a pie dish
Layer mashed potato over the top of the mince
Layer the cheese on top of the mashed potato and bake for 30 minutes until cheese is golden
And there you have it! Cottage pie! This recipe is super easy, anyone should be able to do it. Keep in mind that the sweet potatoes do make it a healthier option, and you can even not add the cheese or only add a touch on top to make it even better.
